It is done.<\/b> One hundred and four days after the Cabinet approved the cut (19 May 2026), the Ministry of Interior announcements were published in the Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026<\/b> (Volume 143, Special Part 207 Ngor, dated 26 August 2026). They take effect 15 days after publication: from 15 septembre 2026<\/b>, visa-exempt entry is 30 jours<\/b> (tourism only) for a final list of 60 countries and territories<\/b>, replacing the 60-day exemption that covered 93 countries since July 2024.<\/p>\n

The final list has 60 names, not the 59 of the July draft: India and the Maldives both made the cut<\/b>. Mauritius and Seychelles get 15 days, and Visa on Arrival shrinks to three nationalities (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia). Visa-exempt land border entries are capped at two per calendar year<\/b>, except for Malaysians, Bruneians, Indonesians and Singaporeans. Air arrivals are not capped.<\/p>\n

Practical points: travelers admitted before 15 September keep their 60 days<\/b>; the one-time 30-day extension (1,900 THB) survives; countries dropped from the list fall back on bilateral agreements where one exists (China and Russia at 30 days, South Korea at 90), otherwise the e-Visa or the 60-day tourist visa.<\/p>\n
