Corporate criminal liability for bribery is created by Section 176 paragraph two of the Organic Act itself, which came into force on 22 July 2018, the day after publication; before that it sat in Section 123\/5 of the B.E. 2542 Act that this one repealed. This was part of Thailand\u2019s efforts to comply with the FATF (Financial Action Task Force). The one year and the 20,000 Baht are minimums written into the section, not starting points a court may sentence below. A juristic person that commits the offence is fined 200,000 to 1,000,000 Baht under Section 61, and a director, manager or other person responsible for running it whose order, or whose failure to give an order, caused the offence faces the same one to ten years.
