In Thailand the appointment is made by the court on the application of an heir, an interested person or the public prosecutor (Section 1713); the person named in the will is normally the person the court appoints. A minor, a person of unsound mind or adjudged quasi-incompetent, and an undischarged bankrupt cannot serve (Section 1718).
