These terms apply to legal services bought through this website.

1. Who you are engaging

ThaiLaw Online Co., Ltd., Udom Suk Hub, 32 Sukhumvit 101/2 Alley, Bang Na Nuea, Bang Na, Bangkok 10260, Thailand. We are a Thai law firm. Our work for you is supervised by a licensed Thai lawyer.

2. When we become your lawyers

Reading this website does not make us your lawyers. Sending us a question does not either. A lawyer and client relationship begins only when both of these have happened: your payment has cleared, and we have completed a conflict check and confirmed to you that we can act.

Until you receive that confirmation, please do not rely on anything on this site as advice for your own situation, and do not let a deadline pass in the belief that we are handling it.

3. The conflict check

Before we start work we check whether acting for you would conflict with a duty we owe another client. This normally takes one business day.

If a conflict exists we will tell you, we will not act, and we will refund your fee in full. We will not explain the nature of the conflict, because that information belongs to the other client.

4. What we are doing for you

The scope of your matter is what the product page listed as included on the day you paid, and nothing beyond it. Each product page carries a “what is included” and a “what is not included” list, and those lists form part of these terms.

If your matter turns out to need work outside that scope, we will tell you before doing any of it and quote it separately. We will never do extra work and then bill you for it.

5. The fee

The fee shown at checkout is fixed for the scope described. It does not include government fees, translation, legalization, courier costs, or the fees of any professional in another country, unless the product page says it does.

6. What we need from you

We can only work from what you give us. You agree that the information and documents you provide are accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to give them to us.

If you give us information that is wrong or incomplete, and the document we produce is wrong as a result, correcting it falls outside the fixed fee.

7. Timing

Where a product page promises a timescale, it runs in business days from the day we receive the last document on your checklist, not from the day you paid. Thai public holidays are not business days.

Your client portal shows what we are still waiting for, so you never have to guess.

8. Your documents and your privacy

Everything you tell us is confidential and protected by professional privilege.

Documents you upload are encrypted on our server and are readable only by you and the lawyer handling your matter. They are never published, never sold, and never shared with anyone else unless you ask us to or Thai law requires it.

We process your personal data under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 for the purpose of carrying out your matter and meeting our legal and professional obligations. You may ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to the records a law firm is required to keep.

How long we keep things. We keep matter files for ten years after a matter closes, and then delete them. Wills, living wills and estate documents are the exception: we keep those indefinitely, because the whole purpose of such a document is that it can be found decades later.

9. Cancelling, and refunds

When you cancel

เกิดอะไรขึ้น

Before we have started drafting

Full refund, less any third party cost already paid on your behalf

After we have sent you a draft

No refund, because the work is done. You keep the draft

If we cannot act, or we decline

Full refund

If we fail to deliver what the product page promised

Full refund

The line falls where it does because “we have sent you a draft” is a point both of us can see, with a date, in your portal. It is not a matter of opinion.

A bespoke professional service is not the same as a purchase of goods for the purposes of Thai consumer protection rules, so this policy sets our standard rather than restating one.

10. What we do not promise

We will apply proper skill and care, and we will act in your interests.

We do not guarantee the outcome of anything decided by a court, a government office or a third party, and nothing we say about how a matter is likely to go is a promise that it will go that way.

We advise on Thai law only. Where your matter touches another country we will say so, and tell you to take advice there.

11. Complaints

If anything about our work is not right, write to Sebastien Brousseau directly at info@thailawonline.com and say so. We would far rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.

12. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by Thai law and the courts of Thailand have jurisdiction. Where we provide a translation of these terms, the English version prevails, because English is the language in which our clients read and accept them. This is deliberately the opposite of our practice on the signed bilingual documents we draft for you, where the Thai text governs.

Version 2026-08-08.
