A person appointed by the court under Sections 1585–1598 of the Thai Civil and Commercial Code to take charge of a minor without parents, or of an adult declared incompetent or quasi-incompetent. The guardian manages the ward’s person and property, subject to court supervision, and must give an annual accounting. Parents of an adopted minor are guardians by operation of law.
