From 31 August 2026, Thai embassies are closing the door on third-country DTV applications. Royal Thai missions including London, Vientiane and Savannakhet now require applicants to file in their country of nationality or permanent legal residence. The classic route of flying to Laos to lodge a DTV application is finished.
