Roman-law term for the right to use a thing without taking its fruits. In Thai law usus is subsumed within the concept of usufruct (Sections 1417–1428 CCC) and of right of habitation (Sections 1402–1409 CCC), where the holder may occupy the dwelling for the purpose of residence without selling it or appropriating its economic produce.
