Defined by the Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence Act B.E. 2550 (2007) as any act intentionally causing physical, mental or sexual harm against a family member. Protective measures include restraining orders, mandatory counselling, removal of the abuser from the home, and criminal sanctions. Victims may file complaints at the police station, local Social Development and Human Security office, or directly with the court.
