On 17 September 2026 the government announced that the Interior Ministry’s social-order task force, acting on the orders of Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, had resolved to review Thailand’s citizenship system (application procedures, eligibility criteria and decision-making), together with a check of the past year’s grants. Findings are expected to feed amendments to the Nationality Act B.E. 2508.
