The seller was convicted under Penal Code section 343 and section 14(1) of the Computer Crimes Act — but the Supreme Court suspended the sentence under section 56: the defendant had repaid more than double the loss, confessed, and stayed clean for roughly ten years. The Court also held that a juvenile record may be weighed in adult sentencing discretion.
