New on the Dika docket this week: decision 736/2569. A buyer paid 8,500 baht for goods on Facebook Marketplace that never arrived. The seller was convicted under Penal Code section 343 ET section 14(1) of the Computer Crimes Act, but the Supreme Court suspended the sentence under section 56: the defendant had repaid more than double the loss, confessed, and stayed clean for roughly ten years. The Court also held that a juvenile record may be weighed in adult sentencing discretion.
