การที่ผู้ใช้อำนาจปกครองถูกถอนอำนาจปกครองบางส่วนหรือทั้งหมด ไม่เป็นเหตุให้ผู้นั้นพ้นจากหน้าที่อุปการะเลี้ยงดูผู้เยาว์ตามกฎหมายมาตรา ๑๕๘๔/๑[236] บิดาหรือมารดาย่อมมีสิทธิที่จะติดต่อกับบุตรของตนได้ตามควรแก่พฤติการณ์ ไม่ว่าบุคคลใดจะเป็นผู้ใช้อำนาจปกครองหรือผู้ปกครองก็ตาม
