ผู้รับจ้างจะเอาการที่รับจ้างทั้งหมดหรือแบ่งการแต่บางส่วนไปให้ผู้รับจ้างช่วงทำอีกทอดหนึ่งก็ได้ เว้นแต่สาระสำคัญแห่งสัญญานั้นจะอยู่ที่ความรู้ความสามารถของตัวผู้รับจ้าง แต่ผู้รับจ้างคงต้องรับผิดเพื่อความประพฤติหรือความผิดอย่างใด ๆ ของผู้รับจ้างช่วง

English translation
The contractor may entrust the whole or part of the work to a sub-contractor, unless the personal skill and ability of the contractor is of the essence of the contract; but the contractor remains liable for any conduct or fault of the sub-contractor.
