The bundle of parental rights and duties over a minor child under Sections 1566–1598/10 of the Thai Civil and Commercial Code, including determination of residence, education, religion, medical care, and legal representation. Custody can be held by one parent (sole custody), both parents (joint custody) or a third party appointed by the court. In divorce proceedings Thai courts decide custody based on the best interests of the child.
