อันว่ายืมใช้คงรูปนั้น คือสัญญาซึ่งบุคคลคนหนึ่ง เรียกว่าผู้ให้ยืม ให้บุคคลอีกคนหนึ่ง เรียกว่าผู้ยืม ใช้สอยทรัพย์สินสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่งได้เปล่า และผู้ยืมตกลงว่าจะคืนทรัพย์สินนั้น เมื่อได้ใช้สอยเสร็จแล้ว

English translation

A loan for use is a contract whereby a person, called the lender, lets another person, called the borrower, have gratuitously the use of a property, and the borrower agrees to return it after having made use thereof.
