ถ้าจำนวนเงินสุทธิที่ขายทอดตลาดได้ไม่พอชำระหนี้แก่ผู้ทรงประทวนสินค้าไซร้ นายคลังสินค้าต้องคืนประทวนสินค้าแก่เขา กับจดบอกจำนวนเงินที่ได้ชำระลงไว้ในประทวนสินค้านั้นแล้วจดลงไว้ในสมุดบัญชีของตนด้วย
