ถ้าจำนวนเงินสุทธิที่ขายทอดตลาดได้ไม่พอชำระหนี้แก่ผู้ทรงประทวนสินค้าไซร้ นายคลังสินค้าต้องคืนประทวนสินค้าแก่เขา กับจดบอกจำนวนเงินที่ได้ชำระลงไว้ในประทวนสินค้านั้นแล้วจดลงไว้ในสมุดบัญชีของตนด้วย

English translation
If the net proceeds of the sale by public auction are insufficient to satisfy the debt due to the holder of the warrant, the warehouseman must return the warrant to him, entering on it the amount paid, and must also record that amount in his own books.
