Firm annotation
This section adapts the general seizure method of Section 303 to tangible movables that carry a registration of ownership, so that the register reflects the seizure and third parties are put on notice. The added step is notice to the registrar and an entry in the register where title is registered. It sits in Part 3 alongside the other special seizure methods for particular kinds of property. Older Supreme Court decisions citing Section 304 usually concern the pre-2017 numbering, when this number governed the seizure of immovable property, so read them against the current text.
Why this matters in practice
When seizing a registered vehicle, ship, or similar asset, make sure the registrar records the seizure, because that entry protects the creditor against later transfers and warns buyers. Missing the register step can leave a seizure vulnerable. Confirm the correct registering authority for the asset type before enforcement.

Frequently asked questions
How is a registered ship or vehicle seized in execution?
Under Section 304, the executing officer seizes it using the general method in Section 303 and also notifies the registrar; where ownership is registered, the registrar records the seizure in the register.
Why does the registrar need to be notified of a seizure?
Recording the seizure in the register makes it effective against third parties and warns potential buyers, protecting the creditor's position pending sale of the asset.
