The official document (ใบทะเบียนสมรส) issued by the amphur upon registration of a marriage. Under Section 1457 of the Thai Civil and Commercial Code, a marriage is only valid if it has been so registered, regardless of any ceremony performed. The certificate is required for visa applications, property registration, inheritance claims and divorce petitions.
