ถ้ามีผู้นำตั๋วเงินชนิดจะพึงใช้เงินตามเขาสั่งเมื่อทวงถามมาเบิกต่อธนาคารใด และธนาคารนั้นได้ใช้เงินให้ไปตามทางค้าปกติโดยสุจริตและปราศจากประมาทเลินเล่อไซร้ ท่านว่าธนาคารไม่มีหน้าที่จะต้องนำสืบว่าการสลักหลังของผู้รับเงิน หรือการสลักหลังในภายหลังรายใด ๆ ได้ทำไปด้วยอาศัยรับมอบอำนาจแต่บุคคลซึ่งอ้างเอาเป็นเจ้าของคำสลักหลังนั้น และถึงแม้ว่ารายการสลักหลังนั้นจะเป็นสลักหลังปลอมหรือปราศจากอำนาจก็ตาม ท่านให้ถือว่าธนาคารได้ใช้เงินไปถูกระเบียบ

English translation
Where a bill payable to order on demand is presented for payment at a bank, and the bank pays it in the ordinary course of business, in good faith and without negligence, the bank is not bound to show that the endorsement of the payee, or any subsequent endorsement, was made by or under the authority of the person whose endorsement it purports to be; and the bank is deemed to have paid the bill in due course, even though that endorsement is forged or made without authority.
