เมื่อผู้ทรงตั๋วเงินซึ่งหายหรือถูกลักทราบเหตุแล้ว ในทันใดนั้นต้องบอกกล่าวเป็นหนังสือไปยังผู้ออกตั๋วเงิน ผู้จ่าย ผู้สมอ้างยามประสงค์ ผู้รับรองเพื่อแก้หน้าและผู้รับอาวัล ตามแต่มี เพื่อให้บอกปัดไม่ใช้เงินตามตั๋วเงินนั้น

English translation
As soon as the holder of a bill which has been lost or stolen becomes aware of the fact, he must immediately give written notice to the maker, the drawee, the referee in case of need, the acceptor by intervention and the giver of an aval, as the case may be, so that they may refuse payment of that bill.
