ถ้าเจ้าของทรัพย์สินต้องการ ผู้ทรงสิทธิเก็บกินจำต้องเอาทรัพย์สินประกันวินาศภัยเพื่อประโยชน์แก่เจ้าของทรัพย์สิน และถ้าทรัพย์สินนั้นได้เอาประกันภัยไว้แล้ว ผู้ทรงสิทธิเก็บกินต้องต่อสัญญาประกันนั้นเมื่อถึงคราวต่อผู้ทรงสิทธิเก็บกินต้องเสียเบี้ยประกันภัยระหว่างที่สิทธิของตนยังมีอยู่

English translation
If required by the owner, the usufructuary is bound to ensure the property against loss for the benefit of the owner; and if the property is already insures he is bound to renew such insurance when due He must pay the premiums of the insurance for the duration of his usufruct.
