อันตั๋วแลกเงินนั้น นอกจากชนิดที่สั่งจ่ายแก่ผู้ถือแล้ว จะออกไปเป็นคู่ฉีกความต้องกันสองฉบับหรือกว่านั้นก็อาจจะออกได้คู่ฉีกเหล่านี้ต้องมีหมายลำดับลงไว้ในตัวตราสารนั้นเอง มิฉะนั้นคู่ฉีกแต่ละฉบับย่อมใช้ได้เป็นตั๋วแลกเงินฉบับหนึ่ง ๆ แยกเป็นตั๋วเงินต่างฉบับกันบุคคลทุกคนซึ่งเป็นผู้ทรงตั๋วเงินอันมิได้ระบุว่าได้ออกเป็นตั๋วเดี่ยวนั้น จะเรียกให้ส่งมอบคู่ฉีกสองฉบับหรือกว่านั้นแก่ตนก็ได้ โดยยอมให้คิดค่าใช้จ่ายเอาแก่ตน ในการนี้ผู้ทรงต้องว่ากล่าวไปยังผู้สลักหลังคนถัดตนขึ้นไป และผู้สลักหลังคนนั้นก็จำต้องช่วยผู้ทรงว่ากล่าวไปยังผู้ที่สลักหลังให้แก่ตนต่อไปอีก สืบเนื่องกันไปเช่นนี้ตลอดสายจนกระทั่งถึงผู้สั่งจ่าย อนึ่ง ผู้สลักหลังทั้งหลายจำต้องเขียนคำสลักหลังของตนเป็นความเดียวกันลงในฉบับคู่ฉีกใหม่แห่งตั๋วสำรับนั้นอีกด้วย

English translation
A bill of exchange, other than one payable to bearer, may be drawn in two or more identical parts. These parts must be numbered in the body of the instrument itself; otherwise each part is treated as a separate bill of exchange. Any holder of a bill which does not state that it has been drawn as a sole bill may require two or more parts to be delivered to him at his own expense. For that purpose he must apply to his immediate endorser, who must assist him in applying to his own endorser, and so on in succession up to the drawer. The endorsers must reproduce their endorsements on the new parts of the set.
