ถ้าผู้ทรงตั๋วแลกเงินสำรับหนึ่งสลักหลังคู่ฉีกสองฉบับหรือกว่านั้นให้แก่บุคคลต่างคนกัน ท่านว่าผู้ทรงย่อมต้องรับผิดตามคู่ฉีกเช่นว่านั้นทุก ๆ ฉบับ และผู้สลักหลังภายหลังผู้ทรงทุก ๆ คนก็ต้องรับผิดตามคู่ฉีกอันตนเองได้สลักหลังลงไปนั้น เสมือนดังว่าคู่ฉีกที่ว่านั้นแยกเป็นตั๋วเงินต่างฉบับกัน

English translation

Where the holder of a set of bills of exchange endorses two or more parts to different persons, he is liable on every such part, and every endorser after him is liable on the part he has endorsed, as if those parts were separate bills.
