In Thailand there is no notary public in the civil-law sense. The Lawyers Council of Thailand licenses qualifying attorneys as ‘Notarial Services Attorneys’ who may certify signatures, authenticate copies, and administer oaths for use abroad. The certification must usually be further legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be accepted in another country.
