ถ้าผู้ครอบครองสละเจตนาครอบครองหรือไม่ยึดถือทรัพย์สินต่อไปไซร้ การครอบครองย่อมสุดสิ้นลงถ้าเหตุอันมีสภาพเป็นเหตุชั่วคราวมีมาขัดขวางมิให้ผู้ครอบครองยึดถือทรัพย์สินไซร้ ท่านว่าการครอบครองไม่สุดสิ้นลง

English translation
If the possessor gives up the intention to possess, or ceases to hold the property, possession comes to an end.
If an obstacle of a temporary nature prevents the possessor from holding the property, possession does not come to an end.
