ในระหว่างการพิจารณาคดีตามมาตรา ๑๔๖๔ ถ้ามีคำขอศาลอาจกำหนดวิธีการชั่วคราวเกี่ยวกับการอุปการะเลี้ยงดูหรือการคุ้มครองคู่สมรสฝ่ายที่วิกลจริตได้ตามที่เห็นสมควร และหากเป็นกรณีฉุกเฉินให้นำบทบัญญัติเรื่องคำขอในเหตุฉุกเฉินตามประมวลกฎหมายวิธีพิจารณาความแพ่งมาใช้บังคับ

English translation
During the proceedings under Section 1464, the court may, on application, order such provisional measures for the maintenance or protection of the spouse of unsound mind as it thinks fit.
In a case of urgency, the provisions of the Civil Procedure Code on applications in cases of emergency apply.
