ตั๋วแลกเงินฉบับใดเขียนสั่งให้ใช้เงินในกำหนดระยะเวลาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งนับแต่วันที่ลงในตั๋วเงินนั้น แต่หากมิได้ลงวันไว้ก็ดี หรือตั๋วเงินฉบับใดสั่งให้ใช้เงินในกำหนดระยะเวลาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งนับแต่ได้เห็น แต่หากคำรับรองตั๋วนั้นมิได้ลงวันไว้ก็ดี ตั๋วแลกเงินเช่นว่ามานี้ ท่านว่าผู้ทรงจะจดวันออกตั๋วหรือวันรับรองลงตามที่แท้จริงก็ได้แล้วพึงให้ใช้เงินตามนั้นอนึ่ง ท่านบัญญัติไว้ว่า ในกรณีที่ผู้ทรงทำการโดยสุจริต แต่ลงวันคลาดเคลื่อนไปด้วยสำคัญผิด และในกรณีลงวันผิดทุกสถาน หากว่าในภายหลังตั๋วเงินนั้นตกไปยังมือผู้ทรงโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายแล้ว ตั๋วเงินจะเสียไปเพราะเหตุนั้นก็หาไม่ ท่านให้คงเป็นตั๋วเงินที่ใช้ได้ และพึงใช้เงินกันเสมือนดังว่าวันที่ได้จดลงนั้นเป็นวันที่ถูกต้องแท้จริง

English translation
Where a bill of exchange is payable at a fixed period after its date but is not dated, or is payable at a fixed period after sight but the acceptance is not dated, the holder may insert the true date of issue or of acceptance, and payment is due accordingly. Where the holder acts in good faith but inserts a wrong date by mistake, and in every case of a wrong date being inserted, if the bill subsequently comes into the hands of a lawful holder, the bill is not thereby invalidated but remains valid, and payment is due as if the date inserted were the true date.
