คำรับรองเบี่ยงบ่ายนั้น ผู้ทรงตั๋วแลกเงินจะบอกปัดเสียก็ได้ และถ้าไม่ได้คำรับรองอันไม่เบี่ยงบ่าย จะถือเอาว่าตั๋วเงินนั้นเป็นอันขาดความเชื่อถือรับรองก็ได้ถ้าผู้ทรงรับเอาคำรับรองเบี่ยงบ่าย และผู้สั่งจ่ายหรือผู้สลักหลังมิได้ให้อำนาจแก่ผู้ทรงโดยแสดงออกชัดหรือโดยปริยายให้รับเอาคำรับรองเบี่ยงบ่ายเช่นนั้นก็ดี หรือไม่ยินยอมด้วยในภายหลังก็ดี ท่านว่าผู้สั่งจ่ายหรือผู้สลักหลังนั้น ๆ ย่อมหลุดพ้นจากความรับผิดตามตั๋วเงินนั้น แต่บทบัญญัติ ทั้งนี้ ท่านมิให้ใช้ไปถึงการรับรองแต่บางส่วนซึ่งได้บอกกล่าวก่อนแล้วโดยชอบถ้าผู้สั่งจ่ายหรือผู้สลักหลังตั๋วเงินรับคำบอกกล่าวการรับรองเบี่ยงบ่ายแล้วไม่โต้แย้งไปยังผู้ทรงภายในเวลาอันสมควร ท่านให้ถือว่าผู้สั่งจ่ายหรือผู้สลักหลังนั้นเป็นอันได้ยินยอมด้วยกับการนั้นแล้ว

English translation
The holder of a bill of exchange may refuse a qualified acceptance, and if he does not obtain an unqualified acceptance he may treat the bill as dishonoured by non-acceptance. Where the holder takes a qualified acceptance, and the drawer or an endorser has not expressly or impliedly authorised him to do so, or does not subsequently assent to it, that drawer or endorser is discharged from liability on the bill. This does not apply to a partial acceptance of which due notice has been given. Where the drawer or an endorser receives notice of a qualified acceptance and does not object to the holder within a reasonable time, he is deemed to have assented to it.
