ถ้าในเช็คมีเส้นขนานคู่ขีดขวางไว้ข้างด้านหน้า กับมีหรือไม่มีคำว่า “และบริษัท” หรือคำย่ออย่างใด ๆ แห่งข้อความนี้อยู่ในระหว่างเส้นทั้งสองนั้นไซร้ เช็คนั้นชื่อว่าเป็นเช็คขีดคร่อมทั่วไป และจะใช้เงินตามเช็คนั้นได้แต่เฉพาะให้แก่ธนาคารเท่านั้น ถ้าในระหว่างเส้นทั้งสองนั้นกรอกชื่อธนาคารอันหนึ่งอันใดลงไว้โดยเฉพาะ เช็คเช่นนั้นชื่อว่าเป็นเช็คขีดคร่อมเฉพาะ และจะใช้เงินตามเช็คนั้นได้เฉพาะให้แก่ธนาคารอันนั้น

English translation
Where a cheque bears across its face two parallel transverse lines, with or without the words "and company" or any abbreviation of them between the lines, it is a general crossing, and the cheque may be paid only to a bank. Where the name of a particular bank is written between the lines, it is a special crossing, and the cheque may be paid only to that bank.
