Firm annotation

Section 1452 is the polygamy ban — strictly enforced through marriage-registration controls at the amphur. The civil-registration system checks against existing marriage records and refuses any second registration. Important nuance: a religious/customary ceremony without registration creates no marriage in Thai law (§1457), so a man with a registered wife and a separate "informal partner" is not polygamist legally — but property and child-paternity rules treat the informal relationship differently.
