ในการยื่นตั๋วแลกเงินเพื่อให้เขารับรองนั้น ผู้ทรงไม่จำต้องปล่อยตั๋วนั้นให้ไว้ในมือผู้จ่ายอนึ่ง ผู้จ่ายจะเรียกให้ยื่นตั๋วแลกเงินแก่ตนอีกเป็นครั้งที่สองในวันรุ่งขึ้นแต่วันที่ยื่นครั้งแรกนั้นก็ได้ ท่านห้ามมิให้คู่กรณีที่มีส่วนได้เสียยกเอาการที่มิได้อนุวัตตามคำเรียกอันนี้ขึ้นเป็นข้อต่อสู้ เว้นแต่การเรียกนั้นได้ระบุไว้ในคำคัดค้าน

English translation
On presenting a bill of exchange for acceptance, the holder is not bound to leave it in the hands of the drawee. The drawee may require the bill to be presented to him a second time on the day following the first presentment. Interested parties may not set up a failure to comply with that requirement unless the requirement is stated in the protest.
