ผู้สั่งจ่ายหรือผู้สลักหลังจะระบุบุคคลผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดไว้ก็ได้ว่าเป็นผู้จะรับรอง หรือใช้เงินยามประสงค์ ณ สถานที่ใช้เงินภายในเงื่อนบังคับดังจะกล่าวต่อไปข้างหน้า บุคคลผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดจะรับรองหรือใช้เงินตามตั๋วแลกเงินในฐานเป็นผู้สอดเข้าแก้หน้าบุคคลใดผู้ลงลายมือชื่อในตั๋วนั้นก็ได้ผู้สอดเข้าแก้หน้านั้นจะเป็นบุคคลภายนอกก็ได้ แม้จะเป็นผู้จ่ายหรือบุคคลซึ่งต้องรับผิดโดยตั๋วเงินนั้นอยู่แล้วก็ได้ ห้ามแต่ผู้รับรองเท่านั้นผู้สอดเข้าแก้หน้าจำต้องให้คำบอกกล่าวโดยไม่ชักช้า เพื่อให้คู่สัญญาฝ่ายซึ่งตนเข้าแก้หน้านั้นทราบการที่ตนเข้าแก้หน้า(๑) การรับรองเพื่อแก้หน้า

English translation
The drawer or any endorser may name a person to accept or to pay in case of need at the place of payment. Subject to the conditions set out below, any person may accept or pay a bill of exchange as an intervener on behalf of any person liable on it. The intervener may be a third person, or the drawee, or any person already liable on the bill, other than the acceptor. The intervener must give notice of his intervention without delay to the party on whose behalf he has intervened.
