บุคคลผู้ใช้เงินเพื่อแก้หน้าย่อมรับช่วงสิทธิทั้งปวงของผู้ทรงอันมีต่อคู่สัญญาฝ่ายซึ่งตนได้ใช้เงินแทนไป และต่อคู่สัญญาทั้งหลายผู้ต้องรับผิดต่อคู่สัญญาฝ่ายนั้น แต่หาอาจจะสลักหลังตั๋วแลกเงินนั้นอีกต่อไปได้ไม่อนึ่ง บรรดาผู้ซึ่งสลักหลังภายหลังคู่สัญญาฝ่ายซึ่งเขาได้ใช้เงินแทนไปนั้น ย่อมหลุดพ้นจากความรับผิดในกรณีแข่งกันเข้าใช้เงินเพื่อแก้หน้า ท่านว่าการใช้เงินรายใดจะให้ผลปลดหนี้มากรายที่สุด พึงนิยมเอารายนั้นเป็นดียิ่งถ้าไม่ดำเนินตามวิธีดังกล่าวนี้ ท่านว่าผู้ใช้เงินทั้งที่รู้เช่นนั้นย่อมเสียสิทธิในอันจะไล่เบี้ยเอาแก่บุคคลทั้งหลายซึ่งพอที่จะได้หลุดพ้นจากความรับผิดส่วนที่ ๖สิทธิไล่เบี้ยเพราะเขาไม่รับรองหรือไม่ใช้เงิน
