Firm annotation
Section 1514 is the uncontested-divorce route — fast, cheap, and doesn't require court. Requirements: written consent agreement, two witnesses, both spouses appear at the amphur to sign and register. The divorce agreement typically covers property division, child custody, and child support. Cannot be used if one spouse is missing or refuses to appear — then §1516 contested divorce in family court is required. Foreign-foreign couples married in Thailand can use §1514 for an amphur divorce, but home-country recognition is a separate question.
