Article 212: Assisting a secret society or criminal association

ผู้ใด (๑) จัดหาที่ประชุมหรือที่พำนักให้แก่อั้งยี่หรือซ่องโจร (๒) ชักชวนบุคคลให้เข้าเป็นสมาชิกอั้งยี่หรือพรรคพวกซ่องโจร (๓) อุปการะอั้งยี่หรือซ่องโจรโดยให้ทรัพย์หรือโดยประการอื่น หรือ (๔) ช่วยจำหน่ายทรัพย์ที่อั้งยี่หรือซ่องโจรได้มาโดยการกระทำความผิด ต้องระวางโทษเช่นเดียวกับผู้กระทำความผิดฐานเป็นอั้งยี่หรือซ่องโจรแล้วแต่กรณี
English translation
Whoever:
(1) provides a meeting place or a place of shelter for a secret society or a criminal association;
(2) invites a person to become a member of a secret society or of a criminal association;
(3) supports a secret society or a criminal association by giving property or by any other means; or
(4) helps to dispose of property that a secret society or a criminal association has obtained by the commission of an offence,
shall be liable to the same punishment as a person who commits the offence of being a member of a secret society or of a criminal association, as the case may be.

Firm annotation
Four forms of assistance are listed, providing a meeting place or shelter, recruiting members, supporting the group with property or otherwise, and helping to dispose of its criminal proceeds. Each carries the same penalty as membership itself, so the section refuses to treat the facilitator as a lesser participant. It reaches the landlord, the recruiter, the financier and the fence without requiring proof that any of them belongs to the group.
