Before you pay: what you get, what we need and how long it takes

Please read this before you continue. It sets out our service, the price, what is not included, the timeline and the documents we need.

What we do

We handle your Thai Police Clearance application under a power of attorney. If you are outside Thailand, you do not need to travel to Bangkok for us to file your application. You arrange fingerprints locally using the form we provide.

If you are in Thailand: We prepare and check your file and tell you before you pay whether you need to attend the Centre in person.

This service does not check immigration records, entry bans or blacklists, and we do not advise on the rules of the country that asked for your certificate.

Prices are per person and include the government fee.

Included in the price:

• Preparing your application and checking your documents.
• Our forms: the power of attorney, the fingerprint form and the application forms, with step by step instructions.
• Filing your application and following it up. From abroad, we file under your power of attorney. In Thailand, we tell you before you pay whether you need to attend the Centre in person.
• The government fee.
• A scan of the certificate by email when it is available.
• Delivery of the original within Thailand.

Not included. You pay for these only if you need them:

• International courier of the original outside Thailand: usually around 2,000 baht at cost, with the exact amount confirmed for your address before dispatch.
• Legalization at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 2,500 baht for about 30 days or 3,500 baht for about two weeks.
• Legalization at a foreign embassy in Bangkok: price can vary and must be verified each time.
• Translation: price can vary and must be verified each time.
• Bank charges on your transfer: price can vary and must be verified each time.
• Fingerprinting where you live: you pay the police station, embassy or consulate directly.
• Posting your documents to us: you pay your postal or courier service directly.

How long it takes

• Normal service usually takes about 25 to 30 days after we confirm we have received your complete original documents.
• Fast track: we confirm the current expected issue date, and whether we need your originals, before you pay. We do not guarantee issue or delivery within seven days.
• Issuing the certificate, receiving the original, legalization and courier delivery are separate stages. Each one can add time.

Documents we need from each applicant

• Two recent passport photographs, 2 inch size.
• A copy of your passport photo page, signed by you.
• Copies of the passport pages with your Thai visas and your Thailand entry and exit stamps. If they are in an old passport, send copies of the old passport and the current one.
• Our power of attorney form, signed in blue ink with the same signature as in your passport. We send it with instructions on how to sign it.
• Your fingerprints on the official form we send you, two copies.
• The other application forms we send you.
• A document that shows why you need the certificate, for example a letter from the embassy or employer, a job offer or your visa application. We tell you what your purpose needs.
• Thai nationals: also your Thai identity card and house registration book. Men aged 17 to 45: your military service document. If you have changed your name: the name change certificate. Married or divorced women: the marriage or divorce certificate.

Sign every page in blue ink. Do not cross anything out. If you make a mistake, start a fresh copy. We suggest one full spare set of the other forms.

Before you pay, check with the authority that asked for your certificate

Ask how recent the certificate must be, whether it wants the original, and whether it needs a translation or legalization. Please tell us in your answers to the questions on this form.

What happens after you pay

1. We normally email you our form pack within 24 business hours, with step by step instructions.
2. Before you travel for fingerprints, ask your local police station or Thai embassy or consulate whether they take fingerprints and whether you need an appointment. Use our form. If they refuse, email us before you try somewhere else.
3. Email us clear scans of everything first. We check them and tell you what to fix.
4. Normal service: post your originals only after we approve your scans and give you the address, and use a tracked service. Fast track: keep your originals and follow the instructions we confirm for your file.
5. We confirm when your file is complete, when it is filed and the expected issue date. We email you a scan when the certificate is ready, then deliver the original.

We ask for full payment in advance, by bank transfer only, to ThaiLaw Online Co., Ltd. Normal service from abroad: the payment details are shown on the next step. In Thailand, or fast track: we send the payment details by email after we confirm your file. After paying, email your payment slip to seb.thailaw@gmail.com with your file reference. We send you a receipt in Thai baht once your payment arrives.
