Thai lawyer of record
The Thai lawyer of record is วิชชุดา อรรถเมธากุล, น.ม., holder of Thai Bar Licence No. 3149/2556 issued by the Lawyers Council of Thailand, and a Notarial Services Attorney. She has worked with the firm since 2013 and handles family, civil and notarial matters. Every legal matter accepted by ThaiLawOnline is handled by a lawyer licensed in Thailand.
Managing Director
The Managing Director and sole registered director of ThaiLaw Online Co., Ltd. is Sebastien H. Brousseau, LL.B., วท.บ. He was admitted to the Barreau du Québec and the International Bar Association. He has thirty years in law, twenty of them managing law firms in Thailand, and has lived in Thailand since 2004. As a foreign national he does not practise Thai law: he manages the firm, supervises client communication and research, and the Thai lawyers of the firm carry out the legal work.
A law firm, not a legal information website
The free resources published on this site, the annotated Thai Civil and Commercial Code and Criminal Code, the Thai Supreme Court (Dika) decision library and the weekly legal news, exist to support our practice, not to replace it. They are written and reviewed by the firm, and every client matter is handled by licensed Thai counsel.
Trained in both civil law and common law
Thailand is a civil law country. Most of our clients come from common law countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. Sebastien Brousseau was trained in both traditions at the Université de Montréal, one of the few law faculties that teaches the two systems side by side.
This matters more than it sounds. A foreign client’s expectations are shaped by the common law system they grew up under: binding precedent, discovery, the way a contract is read. Thai courts apply a codified civil law tradition where those assumptions often do not hold. Explaining a Thai outcome to a foreign client means translating between two legal cultures, not only between two languages. That is the work, and it is why the firm has spent years annotating the Thai codes and cataloguing Supreme Court decisions in English.

We publish our prices. A bilingual Thai last will starts at 3,900 THB, a living will at 1,900 THB, a prenuptial agreement at 8,900 THB, an uncontested divorce at 9,900 THB, a registered usufruct at 3,900 THB, condominium due diligence at 19,900 THB, a notarised document at 950 THB, a legal research report at 4,900 THB, and a consultation at 2,000 THB per hour. You know the cost before you contact us, and the fee is agreed in writing before work starts. Fees that depend on the facts, such as contested litigation, are quoted after intake.

ThaiLawOnline is independently owned and operated through ThaiLaw Online Co., Ltd. It has no affiliation, ownership link, shared management, shared staff, shared office or referral arrangement with any other Thai law firm. No other firm is authorised to present itself as ThaiLawOnline, to use the ThaiLawOnline name, or to answer for the advice given on this site.
Previous firms: Isaan Lawyers and Siam Legal
Isaan Lawyers is a different firm. Sebastien Brousseau founded Isaan Lawyers in Nakhon Ratchasima on 9 January 2007 and it was sold at the end of 2021. He has had no ownership, management or professional involvement with Isaan Lawyers since that sale. Isaan Lawyers now operates under separate ownership and management, together with Anglo Siam Legal, and ThaiLawOnline is not responsible for their services, advice, staff or client reviews. Reviews of Isaan Lawyers, whether written before or after the sale, do not describe ThaiLawOnline.
ThaiLawOnline (thailawonline.com) was founded by Sebastien Brousseau in 2006, before Isaan Lawyers, and is the only firm he has managed continuously since.

No. ThaiLawOnline and Isaan Lawyers are two separate law firms with separate owners, separate management and separate staff. Sebastien Brousseau founded Isaan Lawyers in 2007 and sold it at the end of 2021. ThaiLawOnline, founded in 2006, is the firm he still manages today. Reviews, advice or services attributed to Isaan Lawyers do not concern ThaiLawOnline.
Is ThaiLawOnline connected to Anglo Siam Legal or Siam Legal?
No. Anglo Siam Legal operates with Isaan Lawyers under their current owners, with no link to ThaiLawOnline. Siam Legal is an unrelated firm; Sebastien Brousseau managed its Pattaya office for part of 2007 only. ThaiLawOnline has no ownership, management, staff or referral relationship with either firm.

Sebastien Brousseau, a Canadian lawyer by training, manages the firm and explains Thai law to foreign clients; he does not appear in Thai courts or sign Thai legal opinions.
