อันบุคคลผู้ทำความตกลงกับผู้ขนส่งเพื่อให้ขนของส่งไปนั้น เรียกว่าผู้ส่ง หรือผู้ตราส่งบุคคลผู้ซึ่งเขาส่งของไปถึงนั้น เรียกว่าผู้รับตราส่งบำเหน็จอันจะต้องจ่ายให้เพื่อการขนส่งของนั้น เรียกว่าค่าระวางพาหนะ
