ผู้ใดกระทำการใด ๆ เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งข้อความเอกสารหรือสิ่งใด ๆ อันปกปิดไว้เป็นความลับสำหรับความปลอดภัยของประเทศ ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินสิบปี

Firm annotation
The elements are an act, and the purpose of obtaining a statement, document or thing kept secret for the safety of the country. The offence is complete on the attempt to obtain: the material need not be acquired, and it certainly need not be passed to anyone. That is what separates this section from the disclosure and transmission offences that follow it in the same Chapter. The penalty is up to ten years.
