กระบวนพิจารณาส่วนใดที่มิได้บัญญัติไว้ในหมวดนี้โดยเฉพาะ ให้นำบทบัญญัติในภาค ๑ บททั่วไป และบทบัญญัติในคดีสามัญมาใช้บังคับโดยอนุโลมเท่าที่ไม่ขัดหรือแย้งกับบทบัญญัติในหมวดนี้

English translation
For any part of the proceedings not specifically provided in this Chapter, the provisions of Book 1 (General Provisions) and the provisions on ordinary cases shall apply mutatis mutandis, insofar as they are not contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Chapter.
Where there is a request to proceed as a class action in a case for which the law prescribes a specific procedure, the court in that case shall have the power to order that it proceed as a class action and to apply the procedure under the provisions of this Chapter mutatis mutandis.

Firm annotation
This section, part of the B.E. 2558 (2015) class action amendment, keeps the chapter self-contained without having to restate the whole Code. Its first paragraph is a gap-filler: where the chapter is silent, Book 1 (General Provisions) and the rules for ordinary cases apply by analogy, but only so far as they do not conflict with the chapter, so the class action rules always prevail. Its second paragraph resolves overlap with cases that have their own special procedure, such as consumer or environmental proceedings, by letting the court order that the matter proceed as a class action and apply this chapter's procedure. It works closely with Section 222/8, which lists the case types eligible for class treatment.
Why this matters in practice
When the class action chapter is silent on a point, do not assume there is no rule: the general and ordinary case provisions fill the gap, so long as they do not override the chapter. If your claim already has a special track, for example a consumer case, a class action is still possible and the court can graft the class procedure onto it.
