A court record of proceedings shall state the name of the Court, the place, and the date on which it is entered. If the Court records the proceedings on the order or by the reference of another Court, it shall so state, and shall also show what has been done. The judge who records the proceedings shall sign his name in the record.

Section 10 is the court-side counterpart of Section 9: it fixes the formal particulars of the court's own record of proceedings. Together with Sections 9, 11 and 12, it forms the Code's regime for authenticating written records in criminal cases, and it ties back to the definition of "court record of proceedings" in Section 2(19). The signature and identifying details make clear which court and judge produced the record and under what authority.
