การส่งหมายเรียกและคำฟ้องตั้งต้นคดีตามมาตรา ๘๓ ทวิ แก่จำเลยหรือตัวแทนซึ่งประกอบกิจการในราชอาณาจักรหรือตัวแทนในการรับคำคู่ความและเอกสาร ให้มีผลใช้ได้ต่อเมื่อพ้นกำหนดเวลาสามสิบวันนับแต่วันที่ได้มีการส่งโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายการส่งคำคู่ความหรือเอกสารอื่นตามมาตรา ๘๓ ตรี แก่ผู้รับหรือตัวแทนหรือทนายความ ให้มีผลใช้ได้ต่อเมื่อพ้นกำหนดเวลาสิบห้าวันนับแต่วันที่ได้มีการส่งโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายการปิดประกาศตามมาตรา ๘๓ ตรี ให้มีผลใช้ได้ต่อเมื่อพ้นกำหนดเวลาสามสิบวันนับแต่วันปิดประกาศ และมิให้นำบทบัญญัติมาตรา ๗๙ มาใช้บังคับ
English translation
The service of the summons and the plaint initiating the action under Section 83 bis on the defendant, or on an agent carrying on business within the Kingdom, or on an agent for receiving pleadings and documents, shall take effect only upon the expiration of thirty days from the date on which lawful service was made.
The service of a pleading or other document under Section 83 ter on the recipient, agent, or lawyer shall take effect only upon the expiration of fifteen days from the date on which lawful service was made.
The posting of a notice under Section 83 ter shall take effect only upon the expiration of thirty days from the date of posting, and the provisions of Section 79 shall not apply.

Section 83 sexies fixes the delayed effective dates for service made within the Kingdom on a foreign-based party, mirroring the structure of Section 83 quinquies for service abroad but with shorter periods. Service of the initiating documents on the defendant or a local agent under Section 83 bis takes effect after thirty days; later documents served under Section 83 ter after fifteen days; and posting a notice at the court under Section 83 ter after thirty days. By expressly excluding Section 79, the section makes clear that the general rule on substituted service by posting does not override these tailored periods.
