ถ้าหนี้ซึ่งสินค้าจำนำเป็นประกันมิได้ชำระเมื่อวันถึงกำหนดไซร้ ผู้ทรงประทวนสินค้าเมื่อได้ยื่นคำคัดค้านตามระเบียบแล้ว ชอบที่จะให้นายคลังสินค้าขายทอดตลาดสินค้านั้นได้ แต่ท่านห้ามมิให้ขายทอดตลาดก่อนแปดวันนับแต่วันคัดค้าน

English translation
If the debt secured by the pledge of the goods is not paid when due, the holder of the warrant, having duly lodged a protest, is entitled to have the warehouseman sell the goods by public auction; but no sale by public auction may take place before eight days from the date of the protest.
