ถ้าตั๋วแลกเงินได้รับรองเพื่อแก้หน้าแล้วก็ดี หรือได้มีตัวบุคคลระบุว่าเป็นผู้จะใช้เงินยามประสงค์แล้วก็ดี ผู้ทรงต้องยื่นตั๋วเงินนั้นต่อบุคคลนั้น ๆ ณ สถานที่ใช้เงิน และถ้าจำเป็นก็ต้องจัดการทำคำคัดค้านการไม่ใช้เงินอย่างช้าที่สุดในวันรุ่งขึ้นแต่วันท้ายแห่งกำหนดเวลาอันจำกัดไว้เพื่อทำคำคัดค้านถ้าไม่คัดค้านภายในกำหนดเวลานั้น ท่านว่าคู่สัญญาฝ่ายที่ได้ระบุตัวผู้ใช้เงินยามประสงค์ หรือคู่สัญญาฝ่ายซึ่งได้มีผู้รับรองตั๋วเงินให้แล้วนั้น กับทั้งบรรดาผู้สลักหลังในภายหลังย่อมเป็นอันหลุดพ้นจากความรับผิด

English translation
Where a bill of exchange has been accepted by intervention, or a person has been named to pay in case of need, the holder must present the bill to that person at the place of payment and, if necessary, have it protested for non-payment at the latest on the day following the last day allowed for protest. If protest is not made within that time, the party who named the referee in case of need, or on whose behalf the bill was accepted, and all subsequent endorsers, are discharged from liability.
