ผู้ออกตั๋วสัญญาใช้เงินย่อมต้องผูกพันเป็นอย่างเดียวกันกับผู้รับรองตั๋วแลกเงิน ตั๋วสัญญาใช้เงินซึ่งให้ใช้เงินในเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งภายหลังได้เห็นนั้น ต้องนำยื่นให้ผู้ออกตั๋วจดรับรู้ภายในจำกัดเวลาดังกำหนดไว้ในมาตรา ๙๒๘ กำหนดเวลานี้ให้นับแต่วันจดรับรู้ซึ่งลงลายมือชื่อผู้ออกตั๋ว ถ้าผู้ออกตั๋วบอกปัดไม่ยอมจดรับรู้และลงวันไซร้ การที่เขาบอกปัดเช่นนี้ท่านว่าต้องทำให้เป็นหลักฐานขึ้นด้วยคำคัดค้าน และวันคัดค้านนั้นให้ถือเป็นวันเริ่มต้นในการนับกำหนดเวลาแต่ได้เห็น

English translation
The maker of a promissory note is bound in the same manner as the acceptor of a bill of exchange. A promissory note payable at a fixed period after sight must be presented to the maker for his visa within the period fixed by Section 928. That period runs from the date of the visa signed by the maker. If the maker refuses to give his visa and to date it, that refusal must be evidenced by a protest, and the date of the protest is the starting point of the period after sight.
