ผู้ใดได้มาซึ่งสิ่งใด ๆ โดยไม่รู้ว่าเป็นของปลอมตามมาตรา ๒๔๐ หรือของแปลงตามมาตรา ๒๔๑ ถ้าต่อมารู้ว่าเป็นของปลอมหรือของแปลงเช่นว่านั้น ยังขืนนำออกใช้ ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินสิบปี หรือปรับไม่เกินสองแสนบาท หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ หมายเหตุ: [อัตราโทษ แก้ไขเพิ่มเติมโดยมาตรา ๔ แห่งพระราชบัญญัติแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมประมวลกฎหมายอาญา (ฉบับที่ ๒๖) พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๐]
English translation
Whoever obtains anything without knowing that it is counterfeit under Section 240 or altered under Section 241, and, on later learning that it is counterfeit or altered, still puts it into use, shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding ten years, or a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand baht, or both.

This section covers the person who was themselves deceived. They took counterfeit or altered currency without knowing, discovered the truth, and passed it on anyway. Because the initial acquisition was innocent, the penalty is lighter than under Section 244, at up to ten years or a fine of up to 200,000 baht, or both.
