การแสดงเจตนาใดแม้ในใจจริงผู้แสดงจะมิได้เจตนาให้ตนต้องผูกพันตามที่ได้แสดงออกมาก็ตาม หาเป็นมูลเหตุให้การแสดงเจตนานั้นเป็นโมฆะไม่ เว้นแต่คู่กรณีอีกฝ่ายหนึ่งจะได้รู้ถึงเจตนาอันซ่อนอยู่ในใจของผู้แสดงนั้น

English translation
A declaration of intention is not void on the ground that the declarant in the recesses of his mind does not intended to be bound by his expressed intention, unless this hidden intention was known to the other party.
