หนี้ใดซึ่งตามมูลแห่งหนี้นั้น เจ้าหนี้จะได้รับชำระหนี้เป็นคราว ๆ เจ้าหนี้มีสิทธิเรียกให้ลูกหนี้ทำหนังสือรับสภาพหนี้ให้ในเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งก่อนอายุความครบบริบูรณ์ เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานว่าอายุความสะดุดหยุดลง

English translation
The creditor of an obligation which, by its nature, is to be performed in instalments is entitled to require from the debtor, at any time before the completion of the period of prescription, a written acknowledgment of the obligation in order to obtain evidence of the interruption of prescription.
