ค่าใช้จ่ายใดอันควรแก่การบำรุงรักษาทรัพย์สินซึ่งฝากนั้น ผู้ฝากจำต้องชดใช้ให้แก่ผู้รับฝาก เว้นแต่จะได้ตกลงกันไว้โดยสัญญาฝากทรัพย์ว่าผู้รับฝากจะต้องออกเงินค่าใช้จ่ายนั้นเอง

The depositor must reimburse the depositary for expenses properly incurred in preserving the property deposited, unless the contract of deposit provides that the depositary is to bear them himself.
