ภายในบังคับแห่งบทบัญญัติมาตรา ๑๐๐๙ บุคคลผู้ใช้เงินในเวลาถึงกำหนดย่อมเป็นอันหลุดพ้นจากความรับผิด เว้นแต่ตนจะได้ทำการฉ้อฉลหรือมีความประมาทเลินเล่ออย่างร้ายแรง อนึ่งบุคคลซึ่งกล่าวนี้จำต้องพิสูจน์ให้เห็นจริงว่าได้มีการสลักหลังติดต่อกันเรียบร้อยไม่ขาดสาย แต่ไม่จำต้องพิสูจน์ลายมือชื่อของเหล่าผู้สลักหลัง
